One of the great-grandpas of the family turned 91 in February. We are very thankful for him and the years with which God has blessed him. Here are a few pictures of the event- including a family get-away to Estes Park. We were glad to get away for a night, and enjoyed the time with extended family.
Happy birthday! Yep- that's only three candles. 91 candles would probably cause a house fire, or at the very least set off the smoke alarm!
Here's most of the group enjoying some sledding.
The two of us squeezed on to one sled- whoo-hoo!!!
We made the corner in the road...
...and proceeded straight into a snow berm from a snow plow. Umph!
Later, Silas and Amelie convinced some grown-ups to play Candy Land with them. Amelie will play Candy Land anywhere, any time, with anyone who is available and willing!
Then, of course, there was play dough and cousins...
...while a good game of Balderdash was had by the adults. There are some weird words out there! And a nice time was had by all. :-)

A couple of February items...
One of Amelie's birthday pictures... a month late and yet to be sent out to the relatives!
Josiah likes to do some of his pottying on the toilet, and as you can see, it sometimes requires several accoutrements. (Wooden spoon? Check. Vacuum attachment? Check. Play phone? Check.)

It really was January... and then February! Brrr....
...it was cold. Thankfully, here in Colorado it is a dry cold.
Yes, that really is negative 8-degrees Fahrenheit on the weather report for February 1, 2011. Note the "feels like" line that states "Feels Like: -7 Degrees F." That's compliments of the dry air!
And, in typical Colorado fashion- it was to be in the high 40's just a few days later!
Regardless of the cold, snow and kids still mix quite well, and the cold on 2/8 was no deterrent once bundled properly!

Colorado is also usually sunny- deceptively so after a cold front!
