Another homeschool field trip - this time to the Children's Nature Center in Grand Junction.
If you found this in nature, you might think it's snake.
This is actually a legless lizard.
It has eyelids to blink (lizard quality) and chews its food before swallowing (also a lizard quality). It has a line down the side of it's body from just below it's head until about halfway down, which marks the actual body (and digestive system), and the tail begins just below that.
If only we had Photoshop...
This what happens when the boys leave rolls of paper caps in their pockets and then do their weekly laundry. Open up the washing machine and it's wet confetti everywhere!!!
Amelie delighted with her birdbath... only to discover the next day that it had a bad crack in the bowl. Sadly, we had to return in and keep an eye out for another option .
