In September we had the opportunity to take a hike in the Rabbit Valley area west of Grand Junction. There are fossilized dinosaur remains, and we had the expert guide of Lanny Johnson, a Creation Geologist with Alpha Omega Ministries out of Grand Junction. There is actually a dinosaur "quarry" of sorts where the local museum has conducted fossil excavations. Lanny Johnson pointed out to us that the rock layers visible across the valley to the south have no variations between the strata. There is no sign of erosion between the layers, which is what would be visible if we were truly dealing with a "millions and billions of years" geological scenario. What we see, instead, is a testimony to the earthwide flood sent by God in judgement of man's sin, as recorded in Genesis 6-8. Fossils and rock layers should always remind us of the flood and God's necessary judgement of sin, for He is a righteous and just judge!
For He says,
“At the acceptable time I listened to you,
And on the day of salvation I helped you.”
And on the day of salvation I helped you.”
Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation”—
2 Corinthians 6:2
