Well, we've had a great summer in regards to rain and how well the garden has done. Last night changed that all, however, when we received a pounding of hail, dropped by some severe thunderstorms that took a couple of hours to pass through. The pebble-sized hail completely covered the ground, leaving a layer lasted well into the next day. Not only did it shred our plants to bits and pieces, but it shattered one of the spotlights for the backyard.

We've had some good veggies from the garden already, and hopefully some of the bigger plants will try to recover with new leaves and such. Tomorrow morning I will go out and salvage what I can, and then we'll see what happens. It is good to be reminded of Jesus' disciples on the boat in a bad storm, and Jesus' simple command for the storm to be still. He controlled the wind and the waves then, and He still controls them now (even directing each bolt of lightening).
